THE IRT Saint-Exupéry will be present At Paris Air Show on the Aerospace Valley Occitanie/Nouvelle-Aquitaine collective space (Hall 4, stand(pit) EF168). On this occasion, several results will be presented at the end of the season 1 ( 2014-2016) of the projects which ends.
An interactive terminal on the Madeeli booth (F165) will illustrate by holograms and videos the new projects of metal additive manufacturing, the multifunctional thermoplastic composite materials with a new preindustrial pilot of impregnation as well as on the more electric aircraft with the signature of a large-scale project.
THE IRT Saint-Exupéry worked out advanced technologies of Earth observation in the crossing between artificial intelligence and Big Data. The latter revolutionizes the automated processing methods of images and the missions of satellites. Some of these results were already transferred to the industrial partners, Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio, for an industrialization and a business concern.
The agreement inter-IRT ” FIT – Additive Manufacturing “, piloted by the IRT Saint-Exupéry, aims at treating the whole spectre R&D of the additive manufacturing. Objective: prepare the aeronautics and space sectors for these major industrial evolutions. Ariel Sirat, IRT Saint Exupéry General Director, will represent FIT (French Institutes of Technology), association of the 8 IRT created in 2014, to introduce the inter-IRT agreement ” FIT – Additive Manufacturing “. Emmanuel Delabarre, coordinator for this agreement, will present the road map over the period 2016-2022 and will detail the stakes in this coordination of the research actions between 4 involved IRT: Jules Verne, M2P, Saint-Exupéry and SystemX.
THE IRT Saint-Exupéry concentrates on the process of impregnation with the development of a pilot able to realize, in the preindustrial scale, tablecloths of thermoplastic materials with carbon fibre pre-soaked with functionalized resins of type PAEK. This equipment is the only one in France and in Europe available on a platform opened to offer a width of pre-soaked tablecloth being able to reach 300 millimetres, standard of the big world suppliers.
This platform will contribute among others to the development of the French sector of the thermoplastic materials through the project GIFAS TP led by IRT Jules Verne with the implication of the IRT Saint-Exupéry and the IRT M2P.
The IRT Saint-Exupéry gets ready to sign its biggest contract of project confirming a strong positioning on this theme. The Highvolt project starts the season 2 (2017-2019) with not less than 12 industrial partners (European main and railroad aircraft manufacturer, manufacturer aeronautical French system manufacturers, industrialists of the electric engineering, SME and start-up of the sector), 3 academic partners endowed with a 10,6 million euros budget over 4 years. The works led within the framework of this ambitious project prepare the strong and reliable technologies and the standards for the electric transport of tomorrow: more electric or hybrid aircrafts with electric propulsion, electric motor cars and new generations
