On 10 December 2026, IRT Saint Exupéry and CEA will organise a workshop in Toulouse dedicated to the use and industrial deployment of ONNX in critical systems. Industry representatives, researchers and ONNX experts will come together to discuss the technical challenges of deploying machine learning models in these applications.
ONNX for critical systems
ONNX (Open Neural Network Exchange) is an open format for representing machine learning models. It facilitates their exchange and use across different frameworks and execution environments.
Organised jointly by IRT Saint Exupéry and CEA, this workshop aims to bring together the ONNX community and industrial stakeholders to encourage technical discussions, experience sharing and potential contributions to the evolution of the ONNX ecosystem.
Workshop programme
The morning will be dedicated to presentations, followed by collaborative technical discussions in the afternoon.
Morning – presentations
Welcome and workshop objectives;
– ONNX: current status and roadmap;
– Specification and implementation challenges for deep neural networks (DNNs) in certified systems;
– Requirements for DNN components in industrial critical systems.
Afternoon – community contributions
Discussions will focus on six technical topics:
– Specification of operators and models;
– Verification of operators and models;
– Testing of operators and models;
– Implementation of operators and models;
– Accuracy analysis;
– Timing analysis.
The day will conclude with a group discussion and a summary of the main technical questions raised.
Who should attend?
This workshop is open to a broad audience, including industry professionals, researchers, technology providers, developers, and anyone interested in ONNX, its applications, and the challenges of deploying reliable and trustworthy AI systems.
Participants are also encouraged to share their experience and suggest topics for discussion.

Format: hybrid, with the option to attend on-site or remotely. The Teams meeting link will be sent to remote participants at a later date.
