IRT Saint Exupéry PhD students visit Airbus

31 PhD and post-doctoral students from IRT Saint Exupéry visited Airbus on October 9, 2017 as part of the AIDA (Aerospace Industry PhD Acculturation) project. The agenda for the day, which was specially organised by Airbus, was designed to allow the PhD students to attend presentations on Airbus’s research programmes in each of IRT’s areas: “High performance multifunctional materials”, “more electric aircraft” and “embedded systems”. Discussions with several PhDs working at Airbus gave everyone a better understanding of the careers that the industry can offer our doctoral students. The event also included visits to the A380 Iron Bird, an A350 simulator and the MSN3 prototype of the A350.

The PhD students and post-docs from IRT enjoyed the information day immensely, and we would like to thank Airbus for its flawless organisation and the rewarding meetings with its engineers and PhD employees.
