IRT Saint Exupéry offers two paid online training courses to discover multidisciplinary optimization and the GEMSEO software!

A first training session will take place on October 27 on Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO).
A second training session on the GEMSEO software is scheduled from October 28 to 30. The GEMSEO training allows participants to implement the concepts introduced in the MDO training through the use of the open-source GEMSEO library (www.gemseo.org).

Training on Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO):

This course will give you the fundamental principles of Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO). It covers, in particular, the different formulations (or architectures) of MDO processes, as well as the optimization algorithms that are used. You will be able to:
-Identify the fundamental principles of multidisciplinary optimization and their applications in engineering.
-Learn the different formulations of multidisciplinary processes and understand their specificities.
-Learn the different optimization algorithms that can be applied to multidisciplinary processes.
-Apply MDO concepts to a multidisciplinary system.

Training on the GEMSEO software:

This course will teach you how to use the open-source GEMSEO library (www.gemseo.org). The main concepts and objects of GEMSEO will first be introduced, followed by its multiple functionalities (MDA algorithms, MDO formulations, optimization and Design of Experiments (DoE) algorithms, visualization tools, data persistence tools). The course will also show how to extend the library’s functionalities through its plugin mechanism.

You will also discover GEMSEO’s Machine Learning capabilities, including how to build surrogate models for possibly expensive disciplines. Finally, the last part of the course will cover the library’s uncertainty quantification features.

This training is intended for engineers and software developers involved in numerical simulation or optimization. Practical work (via Jupyter notebooks) will be carried out on our training platform during the session to experiment with and apply the acquired concepts.

You may register for both trainings or only one, depending on your background. The GEMSEO training requires knowledge of MDO (covered in the first training) as well as proficiency in Python programming.
